Military Buying Guide

Buying a Home Near Naval Base Kitsap

Getting orders here raises a lot of questions fast — BAH, commutes, neighborhoods, VA loans. We’ve helped more than 100 military families work through all of it. Here’s what you need to know.

Does Your BAH Support Buying?

In most cases, yes — and buying often makes more financial sense than renting, even on a short tour. With a VA loan and zero down, your monthly payment is frequently comparable to local rent. We’ll run the honest numbers with you before you commit to anything.

Using Your VA Loan Well

A VA loan is one of the most powerful tools available to military buyers — zero down, no PMI, competitive rates. Getting the most out of it means more than just qualifying. We work with VA-experienced lenders and can make introductions.

  • Understand VA appraisal requirements before you fall in love with a house
  • Ask us about VA assumable mortgages — one of the most underused advantages in today’s market

Buying Site-Unseen

We do this regularly. Jason and Marilyn provide detailed video walkthroughs — not just a quick tour, but everything that matters: layout, storage, light, neighborhood feel. Families who’ve bought this way tell us they had no surprises when they arrived.

They worked with us buying from the other side of the country without ever seeing the house — Jason’s detailed video tours meant we had no surprises when we saw it for the first time. They even gave us a ride to the airport.
